Saturday, January 22, 2011, City Hall, Mooresville, NC, James Takes was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for combat actions with the United States Army in Afghanistan. Standing beside Mr. Takes is our very own Richard's Coffee Shop patron Herb Knox who received this award during combat actions in WWII.
